Machine Learning Scientist Associate Work term commitment: 12-16 months for Spring 2024 (Beginning of May)

You will have the opportunity to:

Work on the recommendation, content processing, and search systems that power Flipp
Utilize natural language processing techniques including large language models
Work with computer vision applications ? Apply bayesian statistics to analyses and modeling
Create and evaluate experiments to understand the impact of data science / machine learning capabilities across Flipp
Communicate experiment results and opportunities to various team members What you bring to the team:
Bachelor's student in Computer Science / Engineering, or a related field
Experience in data science focused on machine learning or similar field
Ability to communicate the results of experiments and analyses
Strong passion for empirical research and data driven decisions
Experience working with Python, SQL and data science libraries (eg. scikit-learn, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Pandas)
High growth expectations for yourself and your team, and a willingness to push yourself and your team to achieve them Technical Skills:
Experience in data science focused on machine learning or similar field
Experience doing quantitative analysis
Experience in working with Scala, Spark, Python, R and related big data technologies
Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Spark)
Experience constructing data models using predictive analytics & strong statistics knowledge
Experience with recommendation systems & personalization
Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with guidance
Ability to communicate the results of analysis
Strong passion for empirical research and data driven decisions
Foundational knowledge in data mining and machine learning ? Data visualization experience to present findings to peer
