Job Description: Work Environment
Participate in multi-disciplinary teams composed of engineers, technologists, programmers, and technical investigators in the research, design, development, evaluation and support of wireless investigative tools. You will have the opportunity to work with a great group of people in a dynamic and exciting work environment.

Duties may include:
  • Work with engineers and technologists to develop electronic devices for wireless technologies.
  • Develop software to design tools or assist with RF system development.
  • Meet stakeholders for requirements gathering and demonstrations of progress on projects.
  • Write technical reports, user guides and other documentation.
  • Evaluate and test COTS and internally developed devices.
  • Research and develop wireless technologies.
  • Analyze wireless protocols
Job Requirements: Note: The successful applicant must be a Canadian Citizen and will be required to be security cleared at the Top Secret level prior to being hired. The clearance process is comprised of a full filed investigation dating back 10 years and includes criminal background checks and the interviews of friends, neighbors, employers, and the applicant himself/herself. Skills
Preference will be given to students having experience, knowledge, and/or a marked interest in following streams please indicate your preference in application:

Stream 1 (Software Development)
  • Develop desktop and mobile application in (C#, Java, etc.)
  • Develop scripts (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Develop low-level application using C on microcontroller or microprocessor.
  • Develop Web applications (ASP.NET, Django, Apache, etc.)
  • Maintain and test code (GIT, bitbucket, etc.)
Asset
  • Comfortable in Linux and Windows environment.
  • Develop quick prototypes using commercially available microprocessors, such as, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino.
  • Interest in Android development or basic understanding of mobile development.
  • Basic understanding of wireless protocols.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller and microprocessor.
  • Basic understanding of wireless technologies such as LTE, WCDMA, GSM, GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc.
Stream 2 (Hardware)
  • Design/prototype/debug printed circuit boards (PCB).
  • Support RF system integration.
  • Measure and characterize RF signals & systems with a spectrum analyzer, VNA, oscilloscope, etc.
  • Evaluate and test COTS and internally developed RF devices.
  • Evaluate and test specialized antennas.
  • Develop test procedure and setup for various wireless systems.
Asset
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency concepts (power, noise, frequency, harmonics, etc.)
  • Comfortable in Linux and Windows environment.
  • Some experience in test instruments such as Spectrum Analyzer, VNA, Oscilloscope, etc.
  • Developing scripts (Python, bash, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of wireless technologies such as LTE, WCDMA, GSM, GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc.
