  • Applied Machine Learning: Develop reusable software to apply and scale research breakthroughs in machine learning and AI.
  • Data Analytics: Manage, analyze, and translate data into actionable insights to support workforce development and research excellence.
  • AI Project Management: Support AI projects which enable industry sponsors and health partners to develop, deploy and scale AI applications.
  • AI Education: Build ML education programs, which enables widespread AI adoption for industry sponsors.
  • Health Project Management: Support the planning and delivery of Vector health AI implementation projects across academic and healthcare partnerships.
  • Automation and Marketing Analytics: Develop automated tooling and software to support Marketing and Communication projects for Vector.
  • FastLane Program Analyst: Support the research and implementation of Vector's FastLane and programming targeting the mid-market.
Job Qualifications: PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (APPLIED MACHINE LEARNING)
  • You are a self-identified Black or Indigenous student or postdoc (Indigenous ancestry or heritage - First Nations (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit) or a recent graduate.
  • You are in the second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within 1 semester of graduation.
  • Experience in machine learning and/or statistics.
  • Data engineering background working with messy real-world data is preferred.
  • Analytical skills to identify signals in data and feasibility of prediction.
  • Knowledge and experience of Python.
  • Experience with parameter and architecture tuning of deep learning algorithms is preferred.
  • Experience in leading open source deep learning software frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow, and CUDA).
  • Experience with or Interest in AI Systems development, large language models, recommender systems, or deep generative models is a plus.
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (DATA ANALYTICS)
  • You are a self-identified Black or Indigenous student or postdoc (Indigenous ancestry or heritage - First Nations (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit) or a recent graduate.
  • You are in the second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within 1 semester of graduation.
  • You have experience using Google Suite (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Drive), Excel and its advanced functions, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • You have experience managing CRM systems such as Salesforce and are able to perform Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes on large datasets.
  • You have basic proficiency with programming languages, especially Python. Experience with Scrapy/BeautifulSoup is an asset.
  • You have experience translating large datasets into actionable insights.
  • You understand the limits and constraints associated with data usage (e.g., privacy concerns, challenges associated with unstructured data or unlabelled data).
  • You are organized and efficient, with strong problem-solving skills.
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (AI PROJECT MANAGEMENT)

  • You are organized and efficient with strong problem-solving skills.

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (AI EDUCATION)
  • You are a self-identified Black or Indigenous student or postdoc (Indigenous ancestry or heritage - First Nations (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit) or a recent graduate.
  • You are in the second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within 1 semester of graduation.
  • You are motivated to apply machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
  • You act as a technical translator to help non-technical people understand machine learning and other AI techniques.
  • Familiarity with GSuite and/or MS Office 365 and Python programming is required.
  • Previous teaching or facilitation experience in an academic or professional setting.
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (HEALTH PROJECT MANAGEMENT)

  • You are in the second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within 1 semester of graduation.
  • You have experience in project management (scoping, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluating and closing) and using project management tools.
  • You are familiar with GSuite and/or MS Office 365 applications.

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE (AUTOMATION AND MARKETING ANALYTICS)

  • You are in the second year or higher, studying at a Canadian university or college, or a recent graduate within 1 semester of graduation.
  • You have experience using Python, CSS and Javascript in developing scripts for applied projects; experience with the Scrapy framework in Python, SQL, BeautifulSoup and GitHub Actions a bonus.
  • You have the ability to parse and interpret the text collected through data scraping.
  • You are motivated to apply machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
  • You have the requisite software skills and experience developing, refining and deploying machine learning models and tools to problems outside of research.
  • You have experience with designing, building, or maintaining data systems and pipelines.
  • You understand the limits and constraints associated with data usage (e.g. privacy concerns, challenges associated with unstructured or unlabelled data).
  • You are a good communicator who is interested in helping non-technical people solve problems using data analysis, machine learning and other AI techniques.
