The Software Engineering Intern role provides students with the opportunities to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students' career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Veoneer by working on important and innovative projects. Our internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full-time professionals work together on projects across functional departments. The internship assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and practical experience in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Veoneer.

What you'll do
  • Research, develop, and implement custom software/hardware solutions for manufacturing process optimization and standardization
  • Maintain and improve existing software applications, APIs, and databases used for daily manufacturing operations
  • Manage Workflow automation using MS SharePoint, Power Automate, Web API and other applicable automation tools
  • Develop process standard documentation and operator work instructions
Other duties may include:
  • Document work instructions and provide training to users for various applications and procedures
  • Provide basic IT support and assistance for end users as required
  • Assist Full-time Software Engineer and IT Project Engineer in other engineering tasks
  • Troubleshoot software systems as required
Job Requirements: What you'll bring:
  • Preferred Engineering Discipline: Electrical / Computer / Mechanical
  • Solid programming skills in high level language are required (e.g. C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL, React)
  • Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge of Excel or other data processing application would an asset
  • Ideal candidate must have good interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills and mindset
  • Strong work ethic, communication skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Capable of self-learning and generating own tasks
  • To be considered, students must have a minimum, overall GRADE AVERAGE OF "B"
