Location 1 Commerce Valley Dr E, Thornhill, ON L3T 7X6 ONSITE: This is an on-site role as the hiring team will require the student to work in the Markham office throughout the entire duration of the co-op work term. COVID-19 protocols are being strictly followed. Program Term This role is a 16-month position. May 6, 2024 - August 25, 2025 The Role: As a Co-op Software Engineer, you will be part of a cross-disciplinary team responsible for the overall user experience of AMD's graphics software. To this end, you will be charged with collaborating with multiple software functional teams, and working with cutting-edge technologies, to deliver the best possible user experience to our end-users. What you'll be doing Are you an able communicator and can you work effectively in a collaborative team environment? Are you passionate about software quality, and love to learn about new technologies? Would you like to learn a lot about application development on Windows and possibly iOS and Android? If so, we would love to hear from you. What you'll learn Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Promptly triage and/or resolve quality and performance issues raised by customers and QA. Support sample application/test tools development (C++) Feature development (after a few months of training). Writing/executing test cases. Actively participate in design and code reviews. Collaboration with international teams of software specialists. |

Key Qualifications 3rd Year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Returning to school following the co-op term Written and verbal communication and presentation skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an emphasis on product development Preferred Qualifications Please have knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills: Strong command of C++, C, or Java (C++ preferred) Familiarity with OOP design Windows desktop application development Exposure to Qt and QML Developing iOS, Android, or Windows Store applications Knowledge in software testing Knowledge in PC architecture |
