indie is empowering the Autotech revolution with next generation automotive semiconductors and software platforms. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.

You will be part of the software group in indie's Vision Business Unit, creating and bringing to market leading-edge image and video processing solutions for our high performance current and next generation ICs to the rapidly growing automotive camera market.

As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern, you will test and develop the system firmware embedded on indie's vision chipsets and the host tools that talk to it. Your role will be versatile and working with software QA team and system firmware team. From test engineering to software development in both host and embedded RTOS environment, you'll experience every part of the software development cycle, from requirements, to design, to development, testing, and bug-fixing. In short, you'll be part of the team, working on production code, not one-time side projects.

Our customer requirements are dynamic, so you'll experience many different areas of the code, and have the chance to learn lots of new technologies and skills.

Position Details
Working in the software team located in the Toronto, Canada Design Centre, you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Execute / develop / automate test cases to ensure the quality of software releases
  • Update build tools and scripts for build / test automation frameworks
  • Enhance embedded code quality through static code analysis and code coverage tools
  • Develop host-side tools to configure, control and debug the embedded software
  • Participate in the software development cycle, including code reviews
  • Work with hardware, algorithms, and applications teams to solve customer issues
Job Requirements: Required Skills
  • Proficient in scripting, especially Python
  • Proficient in C programming
  • Strong interest in firmware testing and development
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle
  • Strong analytical and program solving skill
