The Digital Data team at Sanofi Canada is the innovation engine that enables the digital transformation of the company globally. Our global AI Center of Excellence is based out of Toronto, collaborating with our colleagues around the globe to put data to work, creating products that provide a competitive advantage for Sanofi. Our data pods enjoy breaking down complex business problems into effective solutions. Combining business acumen with strong analytical skills, our data and AI strategy team is dedicated to leading the transformation and answering major questions that help our organization make objective decisions. As a part of the data strategy and operations team, the role includes translating business strategy into data and AI strategy, driving the business forward.

Responsibilities:
  • Interested in evaluating, testing, and extending complex ML methods.
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable to various digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace.
  • Have the desire to work independently but also in a team environment.
  • Have a creative mind to design and deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Open to learning and building networks with your peers locally and globally.
  • Focusing on a specific analysis challenge and deep diving to understand the current landscape of data, methods, evaluation metrics and implementations available.
  • Working with our ML data teams, define a strategy to test, evaluate and further extend methods for the data and / or problem you are assigned.
  • Implement, test, and refine the methods and apply them to internal Sanofi data in close collaboration with our experimental and clinical teams.
  • Enabling the visualization of the results to make them accessible to non-experts.
  • Prepare the work for publication in major conference / journal.
Job Requirements: Basic qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at an accredited university, in an accredited Co-Op program and have completed at least one year of study, with plans to return to school after the assignment.
  • Education: Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Machine Learning or related areas.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 8.0 on a 12.0 scale
  • Technical skills: Proficient in use of MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Must be legally eligible to work for Sanofi in Canada
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally entitled to work for Sanofi in Canada for the duration of the assignment.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Able to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Desire to work within a team environment
  • Strong project management skills including organization, time management, and follow-up
  • Enthusiasm for operations research and machine learning is a must.
  • Passionate about working within an AI transformation.
  • Can work independently and enjoy taking ownership of projects.
  • You have demonstrated skills such as self-motivation and self-discipline, organizational, time management analytical thinking and problem solving. Listening, verbal communication, written and interpersonal skills to interact at various levels of the organization.
  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.
