Job Description: We are seeking 12-16 month Project Coordinator Co-op students to join our Ledcor team in Toronto, ON.  The Project Coordinator, under the direction and guidance of the team, provides technical and/or management support and assists operations staff to working on various infrastructure project bids.  
 
Essential Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain established Quantity and Cost tracking systems used for various aspects of bidding and estimating work
  • Contact subcontractors for pricing, assemble subcontractor bidding packages
  • Coordinate, distribute and maintain various Design Clarifications including RFIs, and Change Orders processes and logs
  • Work with Project Manager and other Project Coordinators to facilitate tracking of production, scheduling and, financial milestones and deadlines as they pertain to a bid schedule
  • Work with Project Manager and Senior Estimators to develop project schedules using software programs such as Oracle Primavera 6
  • Quantity takeoff from digital or paper drawing sets using Bluebeam Revue for a wide range of scopes of work
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly project or estimate reporting
  • May perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Working towards completion of a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Open to travel and relocation for project work on sites across Canada including shift, camp and outdoor work
  • Show initiative. Can build relationships, is team orientated, personable, confident, proactively participate in discussions
  • Related work experience is an asset (co-op/internships will be considered)
  • Knowledge of office processes: Project Delivery Models, project set up; subcontract management; change orders; RFIs, etc.
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Able to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents
  • Strong technical skills including experience with MS Word, Excel, and scheduling software.  Previous exposure working in JVs or with Government Clients (BCMOT, A.T., etc.) would be an asset.
  • Ability to solve problems based on clearly defined procedures
  • Familiar with commercial/mining/heavy civil/infrastructure construction methodology and practices
